Get what you want.

 My end of Year Strategy.

The strategy I use to create a plan that will guarantee I make progress towards my goals by the end of the year.

The entire process usually takes me roughly an hour.

I do this on my computer because I like to type and have my google calendar up. You may prefer pen and paper, it doesn’t matter as long as you can create actionable items for yourself. Along with schedule dates in calendar or handheld calendar.

Reflection

  • What were my goals that I set for myself for 2024?

  • Where am I along the journey of achieving them?

  • What is important to me now that wasn't relevant then?

  • What was relevant then that isn’t important to me now and why is that?

Questions | Brainstorm

  • What are the top 3 priorities in my life right now?

For me, the focus points in my life right now are business, health, and relationship, yours might be different. Think about what your ideal realistic end result would be with these 3 things.

These are the specific questions I'm asking myself based on those focal points.

  • What do I want my training/fitness to look like and how much time do I have to dedicate to it?

  • What are my body goals? {nutrition}
Example| Build muscle, maintain, lean out, take a break from it all.

  • What projects, milestones, etc are happening, need my attention in my business?

  • What experiences, dates, ideas do I want to do to build in my relationships?

If I had to pick one goal/ outcome to go all in on the next 3 months what is that?

    Execution
Once I answer the questions, I will know exactly what I am looking to achieve or how I want to feel at the end of the year.
    Now it's time to

    a. assess if it's realistic.
    b. Create the plan.

First I go through my answers with a calendar in hand.

I look at what I want vs. where I'm at.

I take realistic inventory of what I already have planned on my calendar and bring awareness to the time I will have to dedicate to the things I want. Then I go through and assess each “want” what can I make happen that may cause some discomfort but is worth it?

What is not a realistic goal for the next 3 months, knowing the time, effort, and dedication is far beyond what you have to give.

Drop those things now so you can release any guilt.

    Next, work backwards

  • Place dates, deadlines, and weekly progress check-in's with yourself in the calendar. Commit to them like it’s your job.

  • For fitness/training, you’ve defined what your body goal is so now you can pick the program to get you there. Set the days and specific time you will workout each day. That’s a date with yourself. You then choose, are you going to show up for yourself or let it slip?

Important to note | Following a program is going to 10X your results. Hands down. It removes the mental fatigue out of figuring out your workout, it eliminates the doubt if you’re doing the right things. And it provides structure. Whether that’s going to a spin class, CrossFit gym, doing an online program from an app, or hiring someone for custom programming for a specific goal you have in mind.

The key > You have to know what you want with your body and find a program that aligns with the goal. Not all fitness programs are created equal. And most are created to encourage movement not necessarily progression towards an ideal outcome.

If you are looking to build muscle, strength, and look good doing it. I recommend Paragon Training.
They are about to enter into a strength cycle focusing on booty gains, quads and shoulders for the next 6 weeks.

  • Nutrition, again this comes back to what your body goal is combined with what your next few months looks like.
Traveling a lot?  Have a large amount of holiday events or family gatherings?

Know >> If there is going to be a lot of inconsistency in your life come November/December, the goal shouldn't be cut weight or lean out. You'll end up swimming in guilt every time to you a delicious cookie and you'll feel like a complete failure when those results don't reflect your expectations.

This is a great time to focus on building strong habits.
This is also a great time to build muscle because the holidays bring more food and muscle LOVES food.

If you do want to lean out regardless of circumstances, prepare yourself for the challenges you may face and make sure you have a plan in place!

Accountability during this time is crucial.
Having a strong support group is crucial.
Knowing how to lean out properly and sustainably,

Cutting calories super low, restricting foods, and watching everyone else enjoy the delicious holiday goodies in hopes your body responds the way you want is exactly why you end up disappointed. Has that ever worked?

I encourage you to pick a day in the next two weeks to develop a plan so the things you want to happen by the end of the year actually happen.

| Ask yourself | when January 1, 2024 rolls around,

how do you want to feel?

What do you want your life to look like?

Will you be making the same exact goals this year because life did happen and you let it?

Or will you reflect back with a smile, knowing you went for it, you did the things you said you would do. And now you're ready to level up even more.

Something to think about.
